Trips & Visits to School

Life Education Van: 4 & 5 December 2012

The Life Education mobile classroom visited school and each class had a chance to visit it to learn about topics such as how the body works, how the brain works, the importance of healthy diet and exercise, and emotional wellbeing (including bullying).  The children took part in enjoyable activities that provided a valuable learning experience that gave them information to enable them to make healthy choices in their lives.

Year 6 Warning Zone:  14 November 2012

Year 6 children visit Crimebeat Safety Centre in Leicester to take part in ‘Warning Zone’ activities.  Warning Zone is a children's safety education centre for Leicestershire, Rutland and the City of Leicester.  It is operated by Crimebeat Safety Centre Ltd, a company set up by the High Sheriff's charity, Leicestershire & Rutland Crimebeat, to make safety education available for every 10 year old in the area.  It is supported in its aims by local authorities, statutory agencies and businesses. As well as learning about safety, issues around personal responsibility and consequences of actions are also explored.

Aladdin Performance: 19 December 2012

The whole school enjoyed a Christmas performance of Aladdin performed by the award winning PALS Productions who are an established Theatre in Education Company. The performance took place in the school hall and was immensely enjoyed by the children.

Year 6 Wales Residential: 20 - 24 May 2013

Residential Trip 1

Year 6 children have the opportunity to attend our annual residential trip at ‘Call of the Wild’ in South Wales.  The children will take part in a series of outdoor and adventurous activities.  Activities will include rock climbing, caving, gorge walking, kayaking and many others. All activities are risk assessed to the highest standard and are led by well trained instructors all of whom are appropriately qualified.

We have visited ‘Call of the Wild’ on our residential trip for the last three years and have on each occasion been impressed by the quality of experience and the way in which the children have achieved more than they thought possible. Not only has this been an enjoyable and exciting week, it has also proven to be a well-organised, safe and memorable trip.
